I love this "transforming a shirt" project!
We have already made 4 cool things out of that good ol' button up shirt and there will be at least 4 more things.
But let's see what we have made already - a collar, shoe laces, a bandana and a bow! How fun!
So, let's get started with today's tutorial - a super cute (and easy and usual!) flower ring.

Here is what you'll need:
♥ a strap of that good ol' button up shirt fabric (about 12 inch long)
♥ ruffled lace
♥ fabric glue
♥ an old ring
♥ a piece of thicker fabric (denim or felt)
♥ fabric glue

1. fold the strap in half and roll about 1 inch, then add a little bit of glue and roll for another 1/2 inch.

2. Now you'll start twisting the fabric every 1 inch and adding glue at about every 1/2 - 1 inch.

2. Twist. Roll. Glue. Twist. Roll. Glue. And it should look like this.

3. Turn over and glue the lace onto the back of the flower.

4. Cut out a piece of fabric and glue onto the back.

5. Let the glue dry a bit (about 10 minutes) and sew the flower onto the ring.

You are done! Put it on your finger and look super cute!

We have already made a collar, shoe laces & a bandana out of the old men's button up shirt.
Let's make my favorite accessory - a cute bow!

1. Cut of both sleeves and the hem of the sleeve. Cut into square (6 in x 6 in) and place them on top of each other.

2. Gather the middle, wrap thread around and tie the two ends together.

3. Fold sleeve hem in half, wrap around middle of bow, cut to right size and sew together.

4. Take a bobby pin and sew the rippled part onto the bow. (You could also sew a safety pin to the back and use it as a brooch!)

Pin it. Cute!

Ok, so we have made a collar and shoe laces out of a thrifted short sleeved men's shirt.
Now we will make another super easy project, a super stylish bandana.

Simply rip (how we did it with the shoe laces) a 19 inch x 19 inch piece out of the back of the shirt.
Fold and tie around your head. :)

I love transforming bla things into something fun and beautiful.
I've had this thrifted short sleeved button up men's shirt laying around for quite a while and thought it would be fun to see how many cool things I can make out of it.
So, here we go. The first two - easiest DIY projects ever - a collar and shoe laces.

1. You'll need a button up shirt and scissors.

2. Cut off the collar right under the seam.

You are done, wrap around your neck and button it up...cute!

Now, lets make some cute shoe laces.

1. Cut about 1 inch right next to the button placket.

2. Rip all the way down (that will give it the fringed look)

Now, find some cute shoes and lace them with the new laces.

Super cute!
Keep the rest of the shirt and come back Thursday for two more DIY restyling projects with the shirt.

The weather is beautiful and sunny here in Boise.
Summer is here and that means less clothing and more accessorizing :)
Today we will be making another fringe necklace. Another one? Yes. Here is the first one I made.
This one is less time consuming, so let's get started!

Here is what you'll need:
♥ leather
♥ 30 inch leather band
♥ scissors

2. Make a sliding knot closure by knotting one end to the other side and then the other end to the first side.

3. Cut 7 leather straps from the leather - 1 x 20inch, 2 x 18inch, 4 x 16inch

4. Fold each strap (16 inch, 16 inch, 18 inch, 20 inch, 18 inch, 16 inch, 16 inch) and slip around the leather band (see above)

5. Lay out the straps and cut into triangle shape.
You are done :)

I love having my hands free and not having to carry around a purse.
But you know how it is, you need a wallet, keys and your cell phone, right?
A fanny pack is the perfect purse replacement but have you looked at the fanny packs available? Yes, ugly, I know!
And here is where I can help. With a super easy tutorial for a (not your grannies) fanny pack! :)
Let's get started!

Here is what you'll need:
♥ leather (about 30 inch x 11 inch)
♥ scissors
♥ preferably a sewing machine (but you can also hand stitch it)

1. Fold the leather and cut the sides (mine is about 6 1/2 inch x 8 1/2 inch). Luckily, mine had the natural curve in the front but you can also cut it that way.

2. Sew the sides together (I used a zigzag stitch but if you do not have a sewing machine, you can use a blanket stitch that I did here)

3. Cut two 2 1/2 inch x 1/2 inch leather straps and sew them onto the back.

4. Cut a 60 inch x 1inch leather strap (my leather wasn't long enough, so I sewed two 30 inch straps together).

5. Loop through, tie it around your waist and you are done :)

Now, isn't that a super cool hands-free purse?!
