I am Erika, I am 28 and I design clothes and other pretty things for a living.
I am the wife to a wonderful husband and mother to a beautiful son. They are my world!

In 2005 I sarted my label Erika Hendrix (my maiden name)
In May 2010 after bringing out 4 of my own collections, and getting a bunch of
awesome press, it was time for something new, Erika Hendrix just didn't seem right anymore.
During that time I was spending a lot of time studying my Cherokee roots. I was mostly
fascinated by the history, culture, clothes, and their language. That is when I came across
the word asuyeta, which means “chosen”. It’s just perfect, because all pieces that I
hand make with so much love are chosen for the gal who buys it.
That's how asuyeta was born.

The best thing about my pieces is that you can just mix and match them up with
your existing wardrobe. They basically go with anything and refresh every outfit.
